Canteen News

Thursday May 8, 2008

We hope by now everyone has seen our beautiful new Canteen. We can’t thank Cassandra Woodhams and her husband David Alrich for their tireless work on this big project. Cassandra has done a fantastic job planning, costing and sourcing everything and supervising the whole job from beginning to end. Both of them worked hard physically as well with David working most early mornings throughout the holidays in the canteen before he went to his real job. Michael Keaton also gave generously of his time installing shelves in the storerooms. THANK YOU! The canteen not only looks lovely, it works efficiently with more bench space, more storage and a great flow of work traffic.

Unfortunately Cassandra hasn’t been able to see the canteen up and running as she broke her foot right at the end of the holidays! Cassandra, we hope you make a speedy recovery and we look forward to you seeing the final result of all your hard work.

The canteen has also been lucky enough to find a great new Canteen Manager, Nicole Nuttall. We know from everyone who has already worked with Nicole, she is a popular choice in this role.

We need some new recruits for our volunteer roster (and also our paid roster – see below) particularly from kindy parents. Kindergarten children are now using the canteen and would love to see mum or dad there at the counter. We need about 10 new volunteers who could do one shift a term to help our roster. Could you please contact Kimberley Keaton on 8969.6179 or kmkeaton@bigpond.net.au if you are able to help. If you haven’t seen the new canteen come and look!
